Maile & Jake were wed lakeside at the Candlewood Lake Inn in Brookfield, CT.

Maile and Jake met as teenage counselors at Camp Hillcroft in nearby NY. Funny enough, this was the same camp that Fountainhead’s owner Kate also worked at during her college summers!

Candlewood Lake is a popular summer spot for boating, however the Inn has a private lakeside vista for an intimate ceremony. Maile and Jake loved the coastal feel of the venue and it’s proximity to their family and friends.

Maile and Jake love blue hydrangeas and wanted them to be everywhere in their ceremony and reception. The familiar pale blue color gave everything an air of coolness on such a hot summer day.

Blue hydrangea can be tricky to work with when the temperatures rise. For Maile and her bridesmaids bouquets we utilized a dutch variety of hydrangea that boasts and woodier stem and holds its moisture much better than south american varieties. For the outside ceremony pieces, we utilized high quality silk hydrangea so no matter the temps they would look picture perfect.

Several camp staff were in attendance at the wedding.
