Julia and Dan met in college at the University of Buffalo. Dan is also my brother-in-law and I’ve known him since he was 5.

The couples cats Vincent and Pepper are very special to them and made several appearances (in spirit) with photos and even large cardboard cutouts of their heads.

This was a destination wedding with family traveling from all over to explore the Finger Lakes region. Love was in the air and so were quite a few storm clouds. A quick pivot to an indoor ceremony didn’t dampen the fun and dancing that took place all night long. When the storms cleared there was even a surprise fireworks display.

The couple had a relaxed casual style with Dan opting for a tan suit and floral tie and Julia in a soft sheath gown. Their bridal party wore different versions of a pale blue gown which allowed for their flowers to really pop.

The color palette really embraced the brightness of the summer season and Julia gave me a lot of freedom to play with color and textures. We used a mix of brights and pastels with pops of blue to tie in the bridesmaids.

A last minute shift to an indoor ceremony meant we were lacking an arbor to decorate. A quick pivot to some low meadow style grounded arrangements made the ceremony space seem special and intentional.

Getting to deliver the bouquets to my future sister-in-law was a real treat.

We opted to do a fun bridesmaids bouquet set whereby each girl had a different flower variety.
